The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was established in 1962 to provide education and research in the field of "Nutrition and Dietetics". Over the years, the department has been affiliated to different faculties and colleges. In 2007, the department was connected to Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Sciences. The department continues its education and research activities under this roof.

Hacettepe University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, is the first and leading institution providing university-level training in Turkey. In Chapter; Nutrition Sciences, Dietetics, Community Nutrition and Collective Nutrition Systems. The Nutrition and Dietetics Program provides vocational education and training to students who are eligible to enter the department with the MF score obtained from the Higher Education Institutions Exam.
