WELCOME TO HACETTEPE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS!

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was established in 1962 for the purpose of training and research in the field of "Nutrition and Dietetics". The department, which was included in different faculties and colleges over the years, was affiliated to Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Sciences in 2007. The department still continues its education and research activities under this roof.

In order to maintain, improve and develop the health of the society with adequate and balanced nutrition throughout life, and to increase the quality of life, our department trains DIETICIANS who comply with the qualifications determined within the framework of international standards, have universal thoughts and values, and respect the country and world culture; and provides education, training, research and consultancy services that are based on science and technology and at the international standards.

The vision of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is to be an exemplary and leading educational institution recognized at national and international level with its well-equipped graduates, scientific studies and consultancy services, to contribute to the healthy development of society, to carry out research, education and publication activities, to establish a reference nutrition laboratory at national and international level.

Hacettepe University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is the first and leading institution in Turkiye to provide vocational education at university level. In the department there are 4 subdivisions; Nutritional Sciences, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, and Food Service Systems. The Nutrition and Dietetics Program provides vocational education and training to students who have graduated from high school or equivalent vocational high schools and who are eligible to enroll to the department via the Mathematics-Science score they received in the Higher Education Institutions Examination.
