Nutritional status of the individual from birth may increase the risk of some diseases, or the problem of nutritional deficiency is the basis of many diseases that cause child death. Therefore, in different periods starting from fertilization to completion of growth and development; it is very important to know the anatomical, physiological and psychological characteristics of the organism and to apply the principles of nutrition and to gain the right feeding habits at an early age. In addition, the importance of feeding both pregnant and lactating mothers in the health of the mother and the baby is indisputable.
Changes in the form of normal nutrition to reduce nutritional and metabolic disorders caused by various diseases that can be seen in every age group starting from infancy, to prevent progression and to help healing are called D Diet Therapy ". Diet: should be adjusted according to the age, sex, body structure, nutritional habits, physical activity, socio-economic conditions of the individual and using appropriate food preparation and cooking methods. Most of the chronic, endocrine, metabolic and malabsorption diseases, which are diagnosed and treated in childhood or later, can be corrected with medication and sometimes even with lifelong diet. For these reasons, dietetic science has a great importance in the fast and effective treatment of both children and adult patients and lead a healthy life. In this direction, technological developments for the production of dietary products for diseases should be continued. These developments will give priority to the production of dietetic products in our country will prevent dependence on abroad.
Mission
In order to implement medical nutrition programs suitable for medical and surgical treatment of congenital and subsequent diseases, to train “dietician meslek professionals who are educated and educated in accordance with international and academic standards, to provide research opportunities, to provide the application of acquired knowledge and experience, to perform publication and consultancy services. .
